Cooling the Garments Sector
The readymade garments (RMG) industry is the backbone of Bangladesh's economy, employing millions of workers. Keeping RMG factories comfortable, safe, and productive is highly demanding due to strict compliance rules set by global brands (like Accord/RSC), high worker densities, and massive fiber dust generation.
HVAC Challenges in Garments Factories
RMG sewing and cutting floors are filled with lint, fiber dust, and heat. Standard commercial air conditioners quickly become clogged with dust, leading to compressor failures and severe fire hazards. Therefore, a custom ventilation and filtration strategy is required.
Selecting the Ideal Cooling Solution
- High-Efficiency Centrifugal Chillers: Combined with heavy-duty air handlers (AHUs) equipped with dynamic lint filters, chillers provide massive, centralized cooling capacities for multi-story buildings.
- Evaporative Cooling Systems: Also known as industrial air washers, evaporative coolers draw outside air through wet cellulose pads. They provide massive cooling airflow while consuming up to 80% less power than standard compressors, and are highly effective for large open areas.
- Mechanical Ventilation & HVLS Fans: Placing heavy exhaust fans at the sewing machines end and fresh air intakes on the opposite wall creates a steady cross-breeze, drawing lint and hot air safely away from workers.
At The Aircons Ltd., we design tailored, RSC-compliant garments factory HVAC and ventilation layouts that deliver pure, clean air, maintaining peak productivity while prioritizing employee health and safety.
